JJ Smith is a lifelong Mississippi resident from Mendenhall and now resides in Sumrall. Growing up in a small, country town helped shape him; he is very family-oriented and believes that relationships, honesty, hard work, and treating people right matter. His faith in Jesus is also an important part of who he is and the values he strives to live by every day.
Before real estate, JJ spent 14 years in the oil and gas industry, including nine years in a supervisory role in both offshore and land divisions. That career taught him the value of hard work, leadership, accountability, communication, and, most importantly, keeping his commitments. He brings those same values with him into real estate.
JJ's decision to pursue real estate is deeply personal. After years of spending long stretches away from home, he reached a point where he wanted something different. He wanted to be home with his wife, Jade, and their three children, Peyton, Harleigh, and Jack. Most importantly, he wanted to be a present and involved father as his children grow up. Real estate gives him the opportunity to build a career while being there for the people who matter most.
Outside of real estate, JJ is usually doing whatever his kids want to do, such as playing ball in the yard, dove hunting, deer hunting, or running the rivers in their boat. He is also a football and baseball fanatic. He grew up loving and playing sports, and that passion never left. So, firing up the grill and having a game on TV is also pretty common at the Smith residence.
JJ's goal is simple: to work hard, serve his clients well, and build a reputation based on trust, integrity, and genuine relationships. Whether he is helping someone find the right piece of land, sell a property, or take the next step toward their real estate goals, he wants his clients to know they have someone in their corner who will work hard, communicate clearly, and follow through.
