Chris Allison’s roots are deep in the mountains of western North Carolina where his grandfather and father instilled in him that hard work and dreams go hand in hand. At four years old, Chris was out hunting and two years later he became “a deer hunter”. Chris worked on the family farm as a youngster and then transitioned to working with his father building custom homes. After high school graduation, Chris went straight into the automotive industry. He owned and operated a dealership for 14 of his 22 year career.
Chris always stayed very involved in the outdoors, hunting all over the United States for whitetail, mule deer and elk. In 1998, his adventures took him whitetail hunting in northeast Missouri. Right away, the men in the family, and Chris, fell in love with the area and ended up buying a little farm house and leasing several thousand acres for hunting. Years later, after selling his auto business, Chris moved to Missouri full-time and formed an outfitting business. Chris and his wife, Annette, are the owner/operators of Knox County Whitetail’s which is based just outside of LaPlata, Missouri. They are one of the largest outfitting operators in Missouri with more than 26,000 acres of hunting, in eight counties. Chris says “it is very gratifying to my heart to be part of someone’s dream hunt. That is what drew me to SmallTown Hunting Properties & Real Estate in 2024…I can have the opportunity to be involved with helping someone own their own farm to raise crops, or have a little slice of heaven in their own hunting property. Dreams are what our nation was built on. I don’t take that lightly!!”
Chris and Annette have three grown daughters and two dogs who are treated like children! The family enjoys travelling, especially throughout the western states.
