Derek Eaves was born and raised in East Central Mississippi in the small town of Louisville where he learned at an early age to work hard and pursue life with positive passion in order to be successful. He is a University of Mississippi alumni where he continued his work ethic and drive as a pitcher for the Rebels baseball team while earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Derek is an accomplished individual with a passion for hunting, a strong background in customer service, and proven expertise in management. For 13 years, he was employed with Eli Lilly and Company as a Specialty Sales Representative and Area Sales Trainer and before that, he spent eight years as the Sales Manager at Fair Oil Company in Louisville, MS. Derek is currently a consultant for Backwoods Premium Wildlife Products’ Ambassador program where he coordinates brand activities and conducts education on strategies of building vendor relationships for 113 current brand ambassadors. Derek is also the owner of Ridge Rock Hunt Company where he and his wife, Lacey, specialize in sending their clients on hunting trips of a lifetime. “It’s all about the experience for our hunters. We love to see their successes and joy after their hunts! It’s the most rewarding part of what we do.” With a deep understanding of outdoor pursuits, Derek has honed his skills in providing exceptional customer experiences while effectively overseeing operations. His commitment to conservation and sustainable practices sets him apart as a leader in the outdoor and hunting community.
Derek joined SmallTown Hunting Properties & Real Estate in the winter of 2023 with the goal of bringing that same exceptional client experience through communication, accessibility, enthusiasm, and gaining a deep understanding of each clients’ expectations while providing one-on-one personal service to accomplish a client tailored outcome.
Derek and his family reside in Louisville where they enjoy all things outdoors. They are members of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church.
