Luke Heiskell was raised in Sumner, MS where he grew up farming cotton, soybeans and corn on his family’s farm. After graduating from The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN, Luke studied at Ole Miss.
Luke has been involved in numerous businesses with most of them revolving around construction, specifically building homes, and hunting lodges all over the Mississippi Delta.
Hunting has always been Luke’s passion. He has hunted ducks, deer and turkey on his family farms and at various river clubs such as Burkes, Beulah Island and Miller Point, where he killed his first deer in 1975. Luke also enjoys traveling to hunt and fish in Arkansas and many other states. Fly-fishing on the Little Red River in Heber Springs, Arkansas is a favorite pastime with his family.
Luke has a small ranch near Abbeville, MS where he raises Akaushi Red Wagyu cattle. He constantly works to make the ranch better for the cattle and the game such as turkey, quail, dove and deer.
Luke’s wife, Elizabeth, is a chef, caterer and author in Oxford. Additionally, she is a food contributor on The Today Show, on NBC. Luke and Elizabeth have three daughters who have attended both Ole Miss and Miss State, making for some fun, lively rivalries during football and baseball seasons.
