Welcome to the Morgan 93, also known as the Catoosa Cabin, a 93± acre wildlife and nature sanctuary just outside of Wartburg in Morgan County, Tennessee. Located just about an hour away from Knoxville, the Morgan 93 has become an escape for the owners, who were looking for a place to get away from town and enjoy somewhere that rivals any national park in the area. As a matter of fact, being on the Morgan 93 feels like you are in your own Smoky Mountain National Park. With the Catoosa Wildlife Area and the Obed Wild and Scenic River closeby, the Morgan 93 really makes for a once-in-a-lifetime place for someone craving to be in and near the outdoors.
Upon entry, you immediately feel the craftsmanship and passion for this property. The nearly 500-foot rock wall and archway lining the driveway were handcrafted by stone found on the property. This is just the beginning of the Catoosa Cabin! As you wind past the first garage, you will see an incredible outdoor living space to your left. Family time and outdoor cooking are favorite activities of the current owners, and here you will find a rock fire pit, an Argentinian grill, and a stone wood-fired Chicago brick pizza oven. Covered from the elements, a good supply of oak and hickory firewood will provide plenty of fuel for your family events. While waiting for the grill to fire up, there are hundreds of feet of walking paths going through the natural area. Here you will enjoy the dozens of flowers and trees planted for your simple enjoyment of nature and the outdoors. It really is a space that is unrivaled!
The hemlock wood cabin is something special and comes completely furnished. Nearly 1,300 square feet of the warmest, inviting cabin that I have ever been in features two bedrooms and a newly remodeled bathroom, an incredible dining area, a newly built screen porch, and a back porch that overlooks the field. As mentioned, the cabin is completely furnished; move in immediately, and bring your clothes!
The land itself is a treasure to Morgan County. Fenced-in gardens with blueberries and an apple and pear orchard are just some of the highlights here. If hiking and/or ATV riding is your thing, you can enjoy 4± miles of trails already cleared and ready for your adventure. Rock Creek, which runs over one half mile of the Morgan 93, is a place to sit and enjoy the uninterrupted nature at its finest. The rhododendrons and mountain laurel are found all around the creek and produce an immensely beautiful scene in the summer that alone is worth the trip to see. The owners were tired of getting wet feet while hiking, so a cable footbridge was constructed to remedy that. There are also trails for ATVs that cross the creek, making the entire property accessible.
Bordered by incredible neighbors and the Catoosa Wildlife Management Area, which provides 80,000± acres of outdoor recreation nearby, it would be nearly impossible for the outdoor enthusiast to run out of things to do.
